Since 1981, when Sonja Catherine de Metter gave us our first bitch, Senda de la Priscalea, we have lived with briards as part of our family.

Our purpose is to achieve perfection in the briard itself as an exciting dog, a loyal and unconditional friend, which is intelligent, kind, playful, joyful, and even a bit cheeky. They are always magnificent guardians.

The litters we have had have given us a lot of personal satisfaction and the place where we live has allowed us to breed them without worries.

Surrounded by nature we have been able to give our puppies the option to develop in a natural environment where they can freely play which we believe helps their psychological development.

Within a family in which there are several generations living together, we have the opportunity to teach the baby-briard to be careful with the babies, to participate in games with the young and to watch how adults work on the land.

Also they learn to be cautious when mummy-briard barks and how to relate to the diverse ages and character of their own kind.

The first thing we look for when breeding is a good well balanced character, therefore we prefer males who live within families, who have good lineage and are healthy with regard to dysplasia, etc., in order to guarantee that our briards fulfil as best as possible the race standard.

To rear a puppy is the best way to make it your best friend as it would have grown alongside you.

It is not a dog we can just buy, feed and leave in the garden. It needs company to be a balanced adult. It is a dog strongly bound to its owner hence he needs company while it grows. If you can’t dedicate some time to it, do not buy a briard.

It is not a cuddly toy either, it is very clever and will try to control the situation if we let it.

We must raise it with firmness but never with brutality.

It is a very intelligent working dog which needs to know its roll in our life.
